At the heart of Nethy Bridge, the Community Centre is a welcoming space for everyone. From weddings and parties to sports, clubs, and local events, it’s the village’s hub for connection and celebration. The centre offers two versatile halls, a fully equipped kitchen, and free Wi-Fi throughout, making it a practical and friendly venue for gatherings of all kinds.
Facilities
Our facilities are open to both residents and visitors. The Large Hall and Small Hall can be hired for meetings, classes, and celebrations, while the surrounding grounds provide plenty of space for outdoor activities.
Large Hall
Bright and spacious, the Large Hall is perfect for weddings, ceilidhs, community events, and performances. It can comfortably seat over 150 people and includes sturdy tables, stackable chairs, and a demountable stage that can be arranged to suit your event. With flexible lighting and plenty of floor space, it’s ideal for dances, exhibitions, and fundraisers.
Small Hall
The Small Hall offers a more intimate setting for meetings, workshops, and training sessions. It can host around 35 people and includes tables, chairs, and access to shared kitchen facilities. Its quiet atmosphere makes it well suited to smaller gatherings, classes, or local group activities.
Kitchen
A clean, well-equipped kitchen connects both halls and includes modern appliances, crockery, and preparation space. It’s perfect for event catering, community lunches, and refreshments during meetings. Light use is included with hall hire, and full catering use can be arranged by request.
Bowling Green
Nestled beside the hall, the Bowling Green is open daily from May through to early September. Visitors and residents are welcome to play, and bowls are available in the small clubhouse. A simple honesty box helps maintain the green, keeping it open for everyone to enjoy. The Abernethy Bowling Club meets here every Monday and Thursday evening and always welcomes new players.
Tennis Courts
Two well-maintained hard courts sit beside the centre and are available on a “turn up and play” basis. Payment is made through an honesty box system, keeping them accessible to all. Whether you’re playing a casual match with friends or sharpening your serve, they’re a great outdoor feature right in the heart of the village.
Playing Field
The large grass field behind the centre is used year-round for football matches, training, and outdoor events. It includes both full-size and five-a-side goals and is popular with local clubs and families. The field can be booked for organised matches or community gatherings.
Children’s Play Park & Birch Wood
Next to the centre is a safe, modern play park for children of all ages, with a good mix of play equipment and open space. Just beyond lies the Birch Wood – a peaceful, easy circular walk where you can enjoy a short stroll among the trees before or after your visit.
